Sandra "Sandy" (Elwell) Hatfield 1945-2003

Sandra "Sandy" Hatfield, 57, of Huntsville, died April 4, 2003, at Waynesville, Mo.
She was born July 28, 1945, at Laredo, Texas, daughter of C.D. "Chub" and Gwendolyn Burton Elwell. She was a graduate of Baylor University with a bachelor of science degree, and she held a master of education degree from the University of Arkansas.
Mrs. Hatfield had been a teacher at the Huntsville Public Schools for 26 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Scientist, and she was active in the Society at Eureka Springs. She served on the board of directors of the Arkansas Education Association, and was a member of Huntsville Local #4737, American Federation of Teachers. She was a member and past president of the Huntsville Friendship Club and had served on the Huntsville City Council.
She was preceded in death by her father, and by a brother, Guy Mike Elwell.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Kevin L. Hatfield, of the home; and her mother, Gwendolyn Elwell of Huntsville.
Services were held on Wednesday, April 9, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home, with David Fitch and Lucinda Shook officiating. Private interment was in the Alabam Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
