William G. Holmes Sr d. November 29, 1987

William G. Holmes Sr., 43, Dixon. Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 29, 1987, from injuries suffered in an auto accident. He was the husband of Rosemarie Stefonich Holmes. Born in Lancaster to Dora S. Houtz, Lebanon, and Walter C. Holmes, Anchorage, Alaska, he was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Dixon. He was employed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., as an insttucior for the 577 Engineering Battalion First Training Brigade. He was retired from the Army after 22 years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served two tours of dutv. and he was awarded three MSM Awards, four Purple Hearts, 2 Bronze stars and 3 Oakleaf Clusters. He also served with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam. Surviving,in addition to his Wife and parents are a son, William G. Jr., Damneck Naval Base, Va.; daughters Lisa, -wife of Michael Hanafusa, Ft. George Meade, Md., and Kimberly, at home; two granddaughters; sisters, Helen, wife of Edward Pond, Warmminster; and Sandra F, Holmes, Lebanon; a stepsister, Victoria; a half-sister, Laura, and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and, nephews. Interment will be in Dixon, Mo., with full military honors.
