Alfred Len Patterson 1894-1984

Alfred Len Patterson was born in Pulaski County, Missouri, April 24, 1894 to Rene and Mary Booher Peterson and departed this life on November 25, 1984 after a long illness. He had attained the age of 90 years, 7 months and 1 day.

He lived his entire life in Pulaski County and retired from Civil Service employment at Fort Leonard Wood in 1959.

Len accepted Christ as his personal saviour at Bethlehem Baptist Church when a young man.

On November 14, 1914, he was united in marriage to Lula Miller and to this union was born eight children. Len and Lula celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary quietly at their home with their children. Len was always happy to have his family with him. He was as a loving husband and father, and was endeared by other members of the family and friends.

He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Crocker, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons: Bill, Leonard, and Cecil; four brothers; one sister; six grandchildren and three great grand children.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lula, of the home, two sons: Robert of Fair Grove, Missouri, and Dwight of Springfield, Missouri; three daughters: Marcia Thornsberry of Crocker, Missouri, Mary Lou Meler of Swedeborg, Missouri, and Violet Baker of Richland, Missouri; one sister: Agnes Nations, Crocker, Missouri; 33 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends.

Services were held Tuesday, November 27, 1984, 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Chapel with Floyd Barlow officiating.

Music was provided by Dwight Roam and Rusty Shadel and DeLores Shadel.

Escorts were: Darold Peterson, Ronnie Peterson, Charlie Peterson, Cecil Petetrson, R.D. Peterson, and Danny Meler.

Honorary escorts were: Gary Thornsberry, Dennis Peterson, Earl Bivens, and Harold Bivens.

Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.
