Clyde Collier 1897-1977

Clyde Collier, son of John O. and Roberta Elms Collier was born March 18, 1897 near Dixon, Missouri, and departed this life August 1, 1977 at John Knox Village of the Ozarks. He had attained the age of 80 years, 4 months and 14 days.

He was united in marriage to Nell Gray on April 18, 1917 and to this union two children were born.

Clyde was a charter member and deacon of the Westside Baptist Church. He served there faithfully as long as his health permitted.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Nell, daughter Lucille Dodds of Springfield, Missouri, son Champ Collier of Waynesville, one brother John Dale Collier of Waynesville, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m. at the Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Sanders and Rev. Lyle Cox officiating. Burial was in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Long Moss Williams funeral home of Waynesville. Pallbearers were the deacons of the Westside Baptist Church: Ellis Martin, Gay McDonald, Don Clark, Norman Humphery, Dr. J.D. Calcote, Dave Link, Albert Guenzler, Charles Willits, Virgil Long, James Smith, and Marvin Long.
