Franciska Hirsch 1899-1978

Franciska Hirsch was born on February 20, 1899 in Novi-Sad, Ugoslavia and passed away September 29, 1978 in the Phelps County Memorial Hospital in Rolla, Missouri. She had attained the age of 79 years.

She was united in marriage to Oscar Hirsch on October 30, 1925, and to this union 4 children were born.

She and her family moved from Germany in December 1949 and then became United States Citizens. She lived the last part of her life in Dixon, but was formally from Devil’s Elbow, Missouri.

She is survived by her two daughters, Helen Alexander and Hanna McCoy of Dixon, Missouri, 2 sons, Steve Hirsch of Springfield, Missouri and John Hirsch of Kansas City, Missouri, 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren with other relatives and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 30, 1978 at St. Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church at 1 p.m. with Father Jerome Sommers officiating. Burial was in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Long Moss Williams Funeral Home of Waynesville. Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
