He was converted at the age of 20 years and joined the Swedeborg Baptist Church, at the time of his death had transferred his membership to Idumea Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful church member until God called him home.
He was united in marriage to Catherine Virginia Graves _____ ____, 1903 and to this union were eight children, four boys and four girls: Avie and _____ of Dixon, Floyd of Raymond ______, Robert of Ojai, California, Mil____ Gwin of Laquey, Lucy ______ of Raymondville, _____ Deardeuff of Richland, W___ and Ell May of Edgarton, ____ also he has 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Six brothers preceded him in death.
He is also survived by his wife and three sisters: Mrs. ____ York, Mrs. Fred Smith and Mrs. Carl Anderson and a host of relatives and friends.
He will be missed by all who knew him. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.
Pallbearers were Norman Manes, Ralph Manes, Willard Manes, Otis Thomas, Kermit Anderson, and Louis Graves.
Funeral services were Thursday, April 11, 1957 at ____ p.m. at the Bethlehem Church near Swedeborg, Missouri with Rev. Virgil Manes officiating. Interment was in the Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of the Hedges Funeral Home of Waynesville.
