Lucy Alleyne Duncan 1897-1932


Lucy Alleyne Duncan was born Sept. 15, 1897 at Relfe, Phelps County, Missouri; and died in Waynesville, Missouri, July 24, 1932, aged 34 years, 10 months, and 9 days.

She was the daughter of Frank E. and Cora A. Duncan (nee Miller). Her father died in May, 1897- four months before she was born.

In April 1905 her mother was united in marriage with G.W. Lane of Waynesville, where she had resided for the past 27 years.

She leaves besides her mother and step-father, a half-sister and a half-brother, Bertie Lee Lane and George W. Lane, Jr.. She is also survived by one grandmother, Mrs. Lucy R. Duncan, of Newburg, aged 88 years, 5 uncles, 6 aunts, and many cousins and other relatives and a host of friends throughout the country. A half-sister, Mrs. Hazel Lane Adams, preceeded her to the grave last February.

She was converted and joined the Waynesville Baptist church when 13 years of age and lived a clean christian life until called home by her Master.
