Orville Frances Laughlin 1893-1970

Orville Frances Laughlin, son of James and Stella Logan Laughlin was born August 28, 1893 in Pulaski County, Mo., and departed this life October 26, 1970 at his home near Waynesville after suffering a lingering illness. Being cared for the past three and a half years by Henry Helton, who’s care was irreplaceable.

On February 3, 1914 Orville was united in marriage to Amanda J. Welch and to this union one son James was born.

Orville gave his life to Christ and was united with the Mt. Gibson Baptist Church in May of 1947, remaining true to his faith until his passing.

Being preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Lavena and Lola Ichord, three brothers, Claude, Clyde, and Roy, and by his wife, Josie, on Feb20, 1958, and by his son James on March 13, 1968.

Orville leaves to mourn his passing: his sister Elfie Bud of Richland, Mo., his daughter in law Gladys Laughlin, three grand daughters, Joyce Yelton, Janell Nappier, and Jammie Laughlin, three grand sons, Joe Jerry, and Johnie. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday October 28, 1970 at 2:00 p.m. at the Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Ewell Groves and Rev. Dale Huft officiating.

Interment was in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of the Moss-Williams Funeral Chapel of Waynesville.
