Annie Mae (Courson) Prewett 1890-1986

Annie Mae Prewett was born in Arlington, near Jerome, on September 25, 1890, the daughter of James and Laura Bullard Courson and passed away in the Bridgeton Nursing Center in Bridgeton on September 27, 1986.  She had attained the age of 96 years.

She was united in marriage to Tice Prewett and unto this union 6 daughters and 2 sons were born.  He preceded her in death on March 3, 1981.

Mrs. Prewett is survived by her son Donald Prewett of Ironton, 5 daughters, Velma Smith of Modesto, California, Flossie Prewett of St. Louis, Mabel Taylor of Florrisant, Lois Grandburg of Palo Alto, California and Lena Rose Edwards of Austin, Texas, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren with other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Claud and Arthur Courson, 2 sisters, Blanche Gaddy and Irene Harlan and 1 son Norman and 1 daughter Lola Faye.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Chapel in Dixon on Tuesday, September 30, 1986 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Earl Jones officiating.  Burial was in the Pisgah Cemetery.  Organist was Kathy Brandt and serving as her pallbearers were Paul Edwards, Donald Prewett, Clifford Taylor, Thomas Julien, Huber Gaddy, and Arthur Courson.  Frank Gaddy was the Honorary Pallbearer.
