James Thurman Deardeuff 1903-1986

James Thurman Deardeuff was born in Miller County, Missouri on November 29, 1903 the son of Simon East and Ida Prater Deardeuff and passed away in his home in Taos on Oct. 10, 1986.  He had attained the age of 82 years.

He was united in marriage to Ina Morrison on April 30, 1927 and to this union 1 son and 3 daughters were born.  She preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 1984.

He served a term as road judge in Maries County, enjoyed working in the Fairview Community Center and the Fairview Church.  In later years he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dixon.

Funeral Services were held in the Long Chapel in Dixon on Monday, Oct. 13, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Harold Withers officiating.  Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long Funeral Home of Dixon.  Organist was Kathy Brandt and Soloist was Sherry Hathaway who sang Living by Faith and Beyond the Sunset.  Serving as his pallbearers were: Jerald Burns, Russell and Dale Wilson, Wayne and David Deardeuff, Jimmy Sherell and Keith Darden.

Thurman is survived by his son James Harlin Deardeuff and his wife Mary of Jefferson City; 3 daughters, Pearl and her husband Gene Burns of Dixon, Dorothy and her husband Jim Darden of Houston, Texasand Hazel and her husband Gene Wilson of Meta; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Clark Deardeuff of Mason City, Iowa and Tom Deardeuff of Doolittle and 2 sisters, Ruby West of Devils Elbow, and Mary Summa of McMinnville, Tennessee with other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers, John, Ernest and Emmett and 2 sisters, Jenny Setser and Ellen Roberson.
