Clyde Ralph Becker 1926-1986

Clyde Ralph Becker, son of John and Zuba Holtsman Becker, was born in Crocker, Missouri on June 11, 1926, and departed this life August 9, 1986 at his home in Crocker.  He had attained the age of sixty years, two months and twenty nine days.

On January 20, 1949, he was united in marriage with Verna Lee Hargett, and to this union was born six sons, and one daughter, all surviving.

Ralph was a charter member of the Hawkeye Baptist Church since he was a young man.  He retired after thirty years with Civil Service, as the Director of Maintenance.  He has lived in the Pulaski County area his entire life, except for the three years he spent in the United States Navy.  He served his country during World War II, from 1944 until 1947.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 12, 1986 at 10:00 A.M. with Minister Reavil Hankins officiating under the Direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.

Resting place was in the Dowty Cemetery.

Escorts were:  Jerry Hargett, Sonny Hargett, C.J. Becker, Junior Hargett, Ray Becker and Marion Wilson.

Honorary escorts were:  Donald Miller and Dwight Roam.

Those surviving include his wife Verna Lee of the home; six sons, Larry, Tom, Rex, Mike, David and Terry all of Richland; one daughter, Donna Piercy of Lebanon; two brothers, Wayne of Quam and Cecil of Richland; two sisters, Ruth Henson and Ethel Hargett both of Richland; eight grandchildren and other relatives and a host of many friends.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Harry, Robert, John Jr., and Leroy.
