Daisy Amalia (Bormet) Manes 1891-1985

Daisy Amalia Manes was born in Manly,Iowa on October 22, 1891 the daughter of George and Amalia Asbrand Bormet and passed away on October 3, 1985 after a long illness in the Heritage Park Nursing Home in Rolla having attained the age of 93 years, 11 months and 19 days.

She and her parents moved to a farm west of Dixon in 1907 and she was married on November 17, 1938 to William Enos Manes who preceded her in death on June 26, 1970.

She accepted Christ as her personal Saviour at an early age and was a member of the First Christian Church of Dixon.

She leaves the following relatives to mourn her passing, one niece, one nephew, 3 grand-nieces, 2 grand-nephews all from California, a devoted cousin, Alma and Jerry Daugherty of Mokena, Illinois, 2 cousins, Otto Bormet of New Lenox, Illinois and Edwin Bormet of Lockport, Illinois, a step-daughter Allean Breeze martin and 4 step grandchildren from Texas.

Funeral services were held in the Long Gilbert Chapel on Sunday October 6, 1985 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Martin from the Christian Church officiating.  Burial was in the Seaton Cemetery.  Organist was Kathy Brandt and her escorts were Howard Goodman, Murl and Leo Baker, Vasca Cross, Paul Beydler and Ronnie Clark.
