Gerald Ovied "Harry" Strutton 1924-1986

Gerald Ovied Strutton better known to everyone as “Harry” was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 29, 1924, the son of Albert Sylvester and Martha Long Strutton and passed away in the Ft. Leonard Wood Hospital on January 22, 1986.  He had attained the age of 61 years.

He was united in marriage to Toyoko Kanamori and to this union 4 sons and 3 daughters were born.

He served in the Army retiring after 21 years, enjoyed fishing and hunting and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Home on Saturday, January 25, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Lee Todd officiating.

Burial was in the Zion Cemetery under the direction of the Long Funeral Home of Crocker.

Pallbearers were Dale, Dana, Dean, and Don Strutton, Tim Proctor and Jim Massey.

Harry is survived by his wife, Toyoko of the home, 4 sons, Dale, Dean, and Don Strutton of Crocker and Dana Strutton of St. Anthony; three daughters, Akemi Massey of Kansas City, Aleta Hall and Jackie Proctor of Crocker; nine grandchildren, four brothers, Gene and Raymond Strutton of Kansas City, Tom Strutton of Iberia and Junior Strutton of Sugar Creek, Missouri; three sisters, Alene Long of Dixon, Glennis Brown of Kansas City and Mae Beal of Crocker; one half brother Claud Strutton of Kansas City, with other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, Kimberly Proctor on November 5, 1985 and two half brothers, Walter and Archie Strutton.
