Flossie Cornelia (Crossland) McClendon 1912-1986

Flossie Cornelia McClendon was born in Bloodland, Missouri on January 17, 1912 the daughter of Narbanus and Eva Hill Crossland and passed away in the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia on May 6, 1986.  She had attained the age of 74 years.

She was united in marriage to Everett McClendon and unto this union 1 daughter and 4 sons were born.

Flossie is survived by her daughter Wanda Anderson of Dixon, 4 sons, J.D. McClendon of Devils Elbow, Lloyd McClendon of Lebanon, Doug McClendon of Dixon and Roy McClendon of Jerome, 12 grandchildren, 2 brothers, Sam Crossland of Swifton, Arkansas and Earl Crossland of Dixon, 2 sisters, Sylvia Spears of Bentonville, Arkansas and Maude Sanders of Hunt, Arkansas with other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 grandchildren, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

She accepted Christ as her personal Saviour at an early age and was a member of Sheppard Baptist Church.  She loved her gardening and quilting and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held in the Long Chapel on Friday, May 9, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Ed Pierce officiating.  Burial was in the Pisgah Cemetery.  Kathy Brandt was the pianist and serving as her pallbearers were Roy, and Jack Crossland, and Doug, Lloyd, John and Roy McClendon.  Honorary pallbearers were John McClendon, Don Baker, and Claude Long.
