Mary Lou (Mitchell) Willie 1931-1986

Mary Lou (Stokes) Willie was born on May 6, 1931 in Dixon, the daughter of Fred and Gusta Crane Mitchell and passed away on March 16, 1986.  She had attained the age of 54 years.

She was united in marriage to Walter Stokes on October 12, 1953 and unto this union three children were born.  He preceded her in death on January 7, 1978.  On January 30, 1986 she married Lenard Willie.

She was an employee of Brown Shoe Company for 30 years, enjoyed the outdoors, sewing, traveling, meeting other people, music and dancing, decorating her house and being with her children and grandchildren.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 19, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ed Davis officiating.  Burial was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers were: Mike, Matthew, and Mick Mitchell, John Wagnor, Larry Bassett, David Odom and Gary Marsh.

She is survived by her husband, Lenard of the home; one son, and daughter-in-law, Troy and Charlotte Stokes of Dixon: two daughters, Diane and her husband, Dennis Beasley of Dixon and Sherry Stokes of Rolla; one step-daughter, Nova Jean Willie of Charlotte, North Carolina; five grandchildren; her mother Gusta Mitchell of Dixon; three brothers, John Bill Mitchell of Dixon and Lloyd and Elvis Mitchell of Waynesville; two sisters, Vera Runner of Dixon and Dorothy Green of Buckhorn with other relatives and friends.
