Litha Ann (Godfrey) Smith 1892-1984

Litha Ann Smith, daughter of Richard and Delilah Phillips Godfrey, was born on August 14, 1892 in Miller County, and departed this life July 10, 1984 in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of 91 years.

She was united in marriage with William Smith on February 28, 1909, and to this union was born three sons and one daughter who survive.

“Annie” as she was known to her family and friends, has been a member of the Christian Church in Richland since 1950.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, Frank, Hughie, Lace, Mike, and Odie, and one sister, Elizabeth, her son-in-law, Thayden, and her daughter-in-law, Maxine.

Annie is survived by three sons., Raymond of Columbia, Vernon, of Jefferson City, and Orville of Richland; one daughter, Irene Hughes of Richland; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Services for Litha Ann Smith were held at Colonial Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m., Friday July 13, 1984. Officiating at the services was John Davenport. Music was provided by Rusty Shadel, soloist and Marcia Shadel, organist. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery. Escorts were: James Laquey, Edward Bohannon, Wayne Johnson, Jim Dippert, Cleamont Sheeley, and Edgar Wolfe. Under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel of Richland, Missouri.
