Polly Ann (Gan) Brown 1898-1984

Polly Ann Brown was born in Bloodland, Missouri on July 10, 1898, the daughter of James and Arrena Crossland Gan, and passed away in the Columbia Medical Center on Friday night, January 20, 1984. She had attained the age of 85 years.

She was united in marriage to Bannon S. Brown on July 17, 1919.

Mrs. Brown is survived by 1 son, Leland Brown, of Buckhorn; 4 granddaughters, Karolyn Lercher, Karen McAlester, Katheryn and Karel Brown, all of Waynesville; 5 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Edmon Gan of Waynesville; 3 sisters, Cora Williams, Lemzona Fagan, and Effie Tucker, all of Waynesville; with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bannon S. Brown; 1 son, Lemon (Happy) Douglas Brown; 1 daughter, Lois Brown; and 3 sisters, Nora York, Lucinda Adkison and Edna Mae Williams.

She was a faithful member of the Buckhorn Baptist Church and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, January 23, 1984 at the Buckhorn Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with F.S. Hammons officiating.

Burial was in the Buckhorn Cemetery under the direction of the Long Moss Williams Funeral Home of Waynesville, Missouri.

Pallbearers were: Charlie Brown, Phillip Wilkins, Allen Freeman, Donald Brown, Tommy Beals and Roy York.
