Don M. Anderson 1925-1982

Don M. Anderson was born in Dixon, Missouri on February 7, 1925 the son of Athol and Marjorie Haley Anderson and passed away in the Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri on Sunday morning, July 25, 1982. He had attained the age of 57 years.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, July 27, 1982 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Clarence Smith and Rev. Phillip Inman officiating, under direction of Long-Gilbert Chapel of Dixon.

He was united in marriage in 1948 to Mary Cochran and of this union 2 daughters and 1 son were born.

Don served in the Air Force during World War II. He graduated from SMS in Springfield in 1949. He then went to the State of Kansas to farm. He then was an employee in the Fort Wood personnel office. He was a charter member of the Dixon Optimist Club, active in the Khoury League and Dixon Youth Recreation Association. He served on the Dixon School Board and served for the last 25 years as Postmaster of the Dixon Post Office. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his Mother, Mrs. Marjorie Anderson of the Lebanon Care Center in Lebanon, Missouri, 2 daughters and son-in-laws, Becky and Stanley Martin of Dixon, and Penny and Mark Kirk of Fort Leonard Wood, 1 son and daughter-in-law, David and Julie Anderson of Dixon, 1 brother Bill Anderson of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, 5 grandchildren, Travis and Tera Martin, Eric and David Kirk, and Lucas Anderson, with many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his Father Athol on January 2, 1974 and 1 infant sister. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
