Elsie Mae (Phillips) Clark 1898-1984

Elsie Mae Clark, daughter of William Henry Phillips and Rachael Susan (Gan) Phillips, was born April 29, 1898, in Bloodland, Missouri, and she departed this life at Americana-Fremont Nursing Center on August 28, 1984 in Springfield, Missouri. At the time of her passing she had attained the age of 86 years and 4 months, and 9 days.

She united in marriage to Dewey Edward Clark by an old pioneer minister Rev. Thomas Bollinger at Hawkins, Missouri, and to this union two children were born.

She made her home at Hazelgreen, Missouri until the early 1940’s when she and her family moved to Waynesville, Missouri where she lived until her death.

She is survived by her two children, a son Ralph Clark of Aurora, Colorado, and a daughter, Myrtle Garton of Springfield, Missouri. One sister Lucy Satterfield of Laquey, Missouri and five grandchildren and four great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.


Funeral services were held Saturday, September 1, 1984 at 10:00 a.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel, organist was Marjorie Link, and soloist Janell Walters.

Those serving as escorts were Norman Humphreys, Gay McDonald, Robbie Goodrich, David Link, Bob Goodrich, and Clyde Phillips.
