Lewis Roark 1912-1985

Services for Lewis Roark were held February 16 at High Point Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Jones and Kenneth Sorden officiating.

Music was provided by the choir, accompanied by Bobbie Brown.

Burial was in the High Point Cemetery under the direction of the Colonial Chapel.

Escorts were Vadie Brown, Raymond Rogers, Wayne Baker, Bob Lane, Dwayne Otto, and Joe Offutt. Honorary escorts were: Willie Crabtree, Jasper Frances, Kenneth Brown, Bobby Wilson, Rice Houston, Arley Parish, Richard Shaha, and Don Scott.

Lewis Morris, son of Charley and Elda Hammer Roark was born November 13, 1912 in Camden County and died February 12, 1985 at his home. On April 21, 1935 he was married to Lucille Hammer. On October 4, 1963 Lewis professed his faith in Christ and was baptized October 13, 1963, uniting with High Point Baptist Church. He enjoyed church and Sunday School.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jimmie Hudlow.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; a daughter, Verla and her husband, Jerry of the country of Brazil; one son, Jerry and his wife, Phyllis, Springfield; six grandchildren, Jeremiah and Rachael Golston, Sandy, Teresa, Amy and Andrea Roark; two sisters, Ruth and Mable Begley, and one brother, Ray, all of Stoutland.
