John W. Threlkheld 1913-1983

John W. Threlkheld was born a son of James Harvey Threlkheld and Sarah Lulu (Grimes) Threlkheld June 28, 1913 in Carrsville, Kentucky and he departed this life November 20, 1983 at the Phelps County Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri.

On January 12, 1935 he was united in marriage to Anna Dailey, and to this union three children were born.

He made the Pulaski County area his home 55 years ago.

John accepted Christ, and was baptized at an early age and was ordained a Deacon on November 5, 1939 and was serving as Chairman of the Deacons at the First Baptist Church of St. Robert at the time of his death.

He was a well known businessman in the Waynesville Masonic Lodge No. 375 A.F. & A.M.

The most important ones in his life was God, family and his church. John was always willing to help when there was something to be done. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family, and church and all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Anna of the home, one son James H. Threlkheld of St. Louis, Missouri; two daughters Nettie Lu Mahaffey of Birmingham, Alabama and Jo Ann Sletten of Madison, Wisconsin, and his mother-in-law Nettie Dailey of Waynesville, Missouri. Five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 23, 1983 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of St. Robert with Rev. Mel Watson, Rev. Keith Miles and Rev. Ensor officiating. Interment was in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of the Waynesville Memorial Chapel. Music was furnished by soloist Denny Marr and organist Mildred Millican. Escorts were Deacons of First Baptist Church St. Robert, Paul Carter, Doug Perry, Prince Thomas, Martin Price, Randy King, Melvin Ashburn, Michael Grace, and Blair King.
