John A. Baranowski 1934-1985

John A. Baranowski, son of Lawrence and Lettie Gan Baranowski, was born April 6, 1934 in Pulaski County, and departed this life March 11, 1985 at Anchorage, Alaska at the age of 50 years, 11 months, and 5 days.

He was united in marriage to Betty Nayakik on December 23, 1966.

John is a member of the High Point Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1953 until 1957. He has been employed at the Alaska Brick Company for twenty-two years.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; three brothers, James of Richland; Wayne of Eldridge and Frank of Stoutland; eight sisters, Marie Henson of Richland, Norma Avery of Lebanon, Ruth Worley of Urbana, Joan Messer of Ulman, Louise Lackey of Kansas City, Kansas; Evelyn Rogers and Edith Hurley of Lebanon; and Unice Jones of Blue Springs; his maternal grandmother, Edith Gan of Waynesville; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Lawrence.

Funeral services were held from the High Point Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 1985 with Rev. Wayne Jones officiating.

Music was by the church choir.

Burial was in High Point Cemetery.

Escorts were Francis Barnes, Bob Breedlove, Carl Barker, Lloyd Smith, Sonny Hooker, and Loman Marshall.

Honorary escorts were Jap Francis and Elmer Looney.
