Wade Sam Hammock 1906-1984

Wade Sam Hammock was born December 13, 1906, to Sam and Tish McIntire Hammock in Pulaski County, and departed this life in Waynesville, Missouri, September 11, 1984, after a long illness. At the time of his passing, he had attained the age of 77 years, 8 months, and 29 days.

On January 26, 1927, Wade was united in marriage to Martha Pruitt, and to this union was born 3 children.

He accepted Christ as his personal saviour and was baptized by Rev. Harvey Dye of Beulah Baptist Church November, 1956, and remained true to his church as long as his health permitted.

He was employed by Bohannon & Sons of Richland for 35 years, from which he retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Walter: 5 sisters, Blanche, Mine, Vernie, Chloe, and Lucille.

Survivors include his loving wife Martha of the home, 1 son, Marion Hammock of Tucson, Arizona; 2 daughters, Geneva Brewer of Wilcox, Arizona, and Alma Perkins, of Richland, Missouri, 8 grandchildren, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held under direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 14, 1984 with Harvey Dye officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery. Escorts were: Jerry Kloepel, Steve Rosack, Tom Manes, Carl Shelton, Jerry Sheeley, Edward Bohannon. Honorary escorts: Lloyd Earl Pruitt, Henry Addison, Robert Glenn Pruitt.
