John Arthur Firestine 1898-1983

John Arthur Firestine was born on May 16, 1898 at Bloodland, Missouri, the son of Jerome Howard and Anna Belle (Coogan) Firestine, and departed this life on Tuesday December 27, 1983 at the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital in Waynesville, Missouri. He had attained the age of 85 years, 7 months, and 11 days.

He was united in marriage to Emma Page on September 27, 1930 and unto this union 3 sons were born.

He was a member of the Big Piney Baptist Church.

John is survived by his wife; Emma of the home, 3 sons: David Howard Firestine, James Edwin Firestine, both of Modesto, California; Ronald Arthur Firestine of Chatsworth, California; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 sister: Meda McLaughlin of Mountain Grove, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers: Bill, Bob, Fred, Walter, and 1 sister, Myrtle Walker.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, December 30, 1983 at 2 p.m. at the Long Moss Williams Chapel in Waynesville, Missouri with Reavil Hankins officiating.

Burial was in the Big Piney Cemetery under the direction of the Long Moss Williams Funeral Home of Waynesville, Missouri.

Pallbearers were: Sal Zarcone, George Lane, Pat Wallace, Jack Scroggs, Brownie Wallace, and Luther Massey.
