He united in marriage to Edna F. Reed on May 30, 1928 and to this union 8 children were born. They shared 55 years of love and devotion to each other.
Mr. Jenkins was employed as a Railroad Engineer with Frisco Railroad until his retirement. He attended the Nazaren Church of Buckhorn. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Railroad Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife, Edna-5 sons-Dr. Edward Jenkins of Waynesville, MO., Harold of Tacoma, Washington, Russell of St. Louis, MO., Elliott of Hayward, California; and Kenneth of Huntington Beach, California; three daughters, Geraldine Swan of Garden Grove, California; Marilyn Allman of Ravendale, California; and Norma Coleman of Las Alametos, California: one brother, Ray Jenkins of Fordland, Missouri, five sisters-Merle Wilson and Mary Ray, both of California, Mildred Phillips and Opal Luttrell both of Missouri and Pauline Morrison of Oregon, 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Masonic Rites were held at 8:00 p.m., December 29 at the Waynesville Memorial Chapel. Funeral services were held Friday, December 30, 1983 at 2:00 p.m. at the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Max Downs officiating.
Additional services were held Sunday, January 1, 1984 at 2:30 p.m. at the Harris Funeral Home in Ozark, Missouri. Interment was held in the Retelo Cemetery in Christian County, Missouri.
