Donald Dean Ryder 1926-1983

Donald Dean Ryder was born in Decatur, Illinois, on July 10, 1926 the son of John Henry and Viola (Johnson) Ryder Sr. and departed this life on December 15, 1983 at his home in Fenton, Missouri after attaining the age of 57 years, 5 months, and 5 days.

On April 21, 1961 Donald was united in marriage to Betty Greer and to this union one daughter was born. Donald served his country faithfully, having over 20 years in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife Betty of the home; one daughter Dee Ann of St. Robert, Missouri; six sisters, Alice Riley of Bement, Illinois, Moe Whobrey of Hammond, Illinois, Maxine Auton of Hammond, Illinois, Marion Fosknight of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Betty Walker of Carlinville, Illinois, and Emma Flanigann of Mobile Park, Illinois; four brothers, John Jr. of Lawrenceburg, Tennesse, Herbert of Eldora, Illinois, Howard of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jim of Evansville, Indiana; his mother-in-law Sylvia Greer of St. Robert, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Donald had accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized into the Baptist Church. He was a loving husband and father and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, December 19, 1983 at 1:00 p.m. at the Long Moss Williams Chapel with Richard Breeden officiating.

Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery of Crocker under the direction of the Long Moss Williams Funeral Home, Waynesville, Missouri. Military honors at graveside. Pallbearers were friends and members of the family.
