Vera Marie Holdren 1914-1984

Vera Marie Holdren, 70, of Baring, passed away at her residence, Thursday morning, December 20, 1984.

The daughter of Harve and Myrtle Greenstreet Mitschele, she was born April 10, 1914 in Camden County, Missouri.

On April 27, 1932 in Camden County she married Robert Davis Holdren.

She is survived by her husband: Robert of Baring; her mother of Crocker, Missouri; four sons: William Holdren, John Holdren, Joe Holdren all of Baring and Jack Holdren of Omaha, Nebraska; three daughters: Mrs. Dale (Shirley) Mesecher of Burlington, Iowa, Mrs. John (Lea) Flynn of Edina and Mrs. Clinton (Mary Lou) Jerome of Eureka, Missouri; two brothers, Phillip Mitschele of Richland, and John Mitschele of Sherman, Texas; two sisters: Miss Pauline Mitschele and Mrs. Robert (Edith) Frazier both of Crocker, Missouri; 24 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, one brother, Tom Mitschele; a granddaughter, Joyce Lynn Flynn and a great grandson Heth Forquer.

Mr. and Mrs. Holdren moved from Camden County, Missouri to the Memphis area in 1947 and later moved to Baring in 1953. She had been employed by the Office of Economics Opportunity and the Nutrition Center in Edina for several years before working with the Baring Senior Citizens Housing Agency.

She was a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church of Richland, Missouri.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 22, 1984, 2:00 p.m. at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina, Missouri with the Rev. Archie Cooper of Kirksville officiating.

Burial was in the Slocum Cemetery, west of Greensburg, Missouri.

Escorts were: Kelly Holdren, Kevin Holdren, Terry Hunolt, Bob Delaney, Jim Kiley, and Dirk Patton.
