Thomas Cade 1897-1984

Thomas Cade, 87, formerly of Bradford, Illinois, died at 11:59 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, in Prairie View Nursing Home, Princeton, Illinois.

Born July 30, 1897, in Osceola Grove, Illinois, to Willis and Mary Blanchard Cade, he married Alice Poff August 1, 1919, in Peoria, Illinois. For several years they lived on the Joe Tanner farm eight miles north of Richland, Missouri.

His wife Alice died March 10, 1968. One son, two daughters, two brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.

Surviving are seven sons: Lyle of Putnam, Illinois, Joe of Geneso, Illinois, Everett of Petersburg, Illinois, Clyde of Buda, Illinois, Don and Fred of Bradford, and Dean Cade, address unknown; three daughters: Mrs. Violet Lampley, Mrs. Bernice Cantwell and Mrs. Betty Forbes, all of Bradford; 39 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

He was a retired farmer.

The Reverend Dale Beck of the Bradford United Methodist Church officiated at services held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 1 at Dunlap-McCann Funeral Home in Bradford. Burial in Bradford City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Buda Rescue Squad or Buda Lions Club.
