Noel L. George 1905-1984

Noel L. George, son of Gholson and Nellie Rutter George, was born at Brumley, Missouri October 25, 1905 and departed this life April 1, 1984 in Springfield, Missouri.

He was united in marriage with Ruby Warren on February 6, 1926, and to this union was born one daughter, Elaine, who passed away in November 1947.

Noel was born and raised around the Lake of the Ozarks area. His employment with Shell Pipeline took him and his family to many different areas of the United States. He retired from Shell in 1962 after 25 years of service.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge #409 in Springfield for several years.

Noel is survived by his wife, ruby; two brothers Noble George of Montreal, Missouri and Clay George of Walla Walla, Washington; two sisters: Mabel Davis of Springfield and Genevieve McCracken of Columbus, Kansas; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Elaine Perch, two brothers, Ralph and Preston and one sister, Grace Nickels.

He was a wonderful husband, father and friend.

Services were held Wednesday, April 4, 1984, 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Chapel with C.K. Smith officiating.

Music was provided by Rusty Shadel, soloist and Marcia Shadel, organist.

Escorts were: Ronnie George, Bradford Flemmer, Phillip Morgan, Jerry George, Merle webb, and Sam Willcut.

Honorary escorts were: Earl Eoff, Own Chalfant, Kenneth Smith, and James Tanner.

Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.
