Charles Edward Keaton 1906-1984

Charles Edward Keaton was born to Lenox and Sarah Keaton of Duke, Missouri, on March 2, 1906 and departed this life at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Missouri on June 24, 1984.

He was united in marriage with Beulah Burch on June 27, 1953 in Tupelo, Mississippi, and to this union came a little son, James Lee who was loved very much by his daddy and the feeling was mutual between them.

He was preceded in death by his parents of Big Piney, three brothers, Claude, James O., Earl, and one sister, Ann Hickman. One brother Lloyd, and three sisters, Mary, Minnie, and Pearly May, died in infancy.

He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, Beulah of the home, one son, James Lee and wife Sue from Pittsburg; one granddaughter Jennifer Lee of Pittsburg, Kansas; one great grandson, Daniel Lee Underwood and one granddaughter Barb Underwood of St. James. Three brother, Clyde of St. Louis, Everett of Dixon, and Robert of Licking. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend. He was saved and baptized by Brother Bill Pringle at the Buckhorn Church. Brother Bill and Ann were very special to him. He and his wife moved their membership by letter to the Second Baptist Church of Lebanon. One desire he often expressed before leaving this world was to meet his relatives and friends in Heaven.

Services for Charles Edward Keaton were held at Colonial Funeral Chapel 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 1984. Officiating at the services was Rev. Lee J. Elam, Rev. Jack Dedmon, and Rev. Don Martin. Music was provided by Rick McDowell. Burial was in the Hazelgreen Cemetery. Escorts were nephews. Honorary escorts were Virgil Shelton, Richard Unger, and Dee Carroll. Under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel of Richland, Missouri.
