Elmer M. Simmons 1897-1984

Elmer M. Simmons was born a son of Samuel Simmons and Allie (Varnado) Simmons in Kentwood. Louisiana on June 5, 1897, and he departed this life Januray 12, 1984 at the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital in Waynesville, Missouriin his 86th year.

Mr. Simmons served his country during World War I. He was employed until retirement with the Chicago Surface Lines as a Street Car Conductor.

Memorial services and Interment will be held in the Greencreek Cemetery in Trangipahoe Parish, Louisiana, under the direction of the Waynesville Memorial Chapel. Mr. Simmons is survived by two daughters: Fran Lutz of Langsing, Illinois and Patricia Galdikas of Columbus, Indiana; three stepsons: Ezra Allen of Laquey, Missouri, William Allen of Texas; and Robert Allen of California; one step-daughter Elba Long of Crystal City, Missouri; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
