St. Theresa Cemetery is a Catholic cemetery that was first known as Egan, or Eagan Cemetery. Most likely it started as a family cemetery and evolved into the Catholic cemetery that is found today. The members of the Eagan/Egan family that are interred here were buried in 1890, 1897, and 1919. The oldest dated stone belongs to Susan Lynch who lived from 1800 until 1880. Some of the other family names that the predate the Eagan family are Bane, Dawe, Fox, Grempczynski, Mahon, and McGowan. St. Theresa Cemetery is still active today and is very well maintained. You can hear the train whistles from the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway tracks nearby. The line is operated by Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad today.
