Turpin Cemetery is located in Pulaski County, MO., near Waynesville, Missouri, in the area known as Shockley Bottom, off of Lexington Road. Shockley Bottom is along a bend of the Gasconade River.

Turpin Cemetery is a small, family cemetery. Josiah Turpin settled in this area in 1813. There are approximately 30 marked graves and at least 8 unmarked graves. Most likely, Josiah rests here in one of the unmarked graves. In addition to members of the Turpin family, members of the Allen, Carmack, Christeson, Hamilton, Simpson, Wilson, and Yeakley families are interred here. The oldest dated stones mark the graves of husband and wife Thomas and Nancy J. Turpin, who both passed away in 1871. One of the most recent stones is that of Cora Agnes Hamilton who died in 1978.
