Loretta Fay (Logan) Benavidez 1922-2009

KIRKWOOD— Loretta Fay Logan-Benavidez, formerly of Waynesville, passed away Sept. 26, 2009, in Missouri Baptist Hospital with her children by her side.
She was born Sept. 11, 1922, to Snowden and Evelyn Logan. She graduated Waynesville High School in 1941, where she was voted Tiger Queen and was on the winning debate team. From there she traveled extensively, living in Japan and Europe. Loretta attended St. Louis University, became a Dictaphone typist and was a Charter member for the National Federation for the Blind.
In her spare time she loved to bowl, play scrabble and play cards. She was a constant source of inspiration and was loved and admired by many others who had the privilege to know this strong, beautiful woman. We love you Grandma!
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila, and son-in-law, Wayne Colin; a son, Bob Benavidez; granddaughters: Tabitha Benavidez, Michelle and grandson-in-law Darryl Bullard, Shannon and grandson-in-law Kevin Huckabee; her great- grandchildren: Cassidi Benavidez, Austin Bullard, and Noah Bullard; a sister-in-law, Nancy Logan; nieces: Cheryl and husband Scott Frandsen, Jackie and husband Wayne Asher; great- nieces: Erin Frandsen and Becky Asher; a great- nephew, Eric Frandsen; and many other beloved family members.
Loretta is preceded in death by her brother, Bob Logan; a sister, Midge, and her sister's husband, Jack Hill.
