Schlicht Cemetery is located in Pulaski County, MO., near Crocker, Missouri, on Resort Road, near the Gasconade River.
Sclicht Cemetery is on land that Joseph Strain settled in 1840. In 1844 he completed work on Gasconade Mill. In 1862 Joseph Strain sold the mill to John Hensley, who in turn sold the property to John Schlicht in 1876. The area has bore his name for over 130 years. Schlicht Cemetery is small, only having six marked graves. In addition to members of the Schlict family, members of the original settler, Strain, are buried here as well. The oldest dated stone is that of Elen Strain who died March of 1861. There are two graves tombstones that bear neither the Strain nor Schlicht. One is not dated, simply bears the name Thomas J. Bishop, who was supposedly about 3 years. The other marks the final resting place of Sterling P. Roam, son of Henry and Rhonda, who was born April 1863 and died August 1863. On the Schlicht Mill website, it is said that a “visiting Monsignor who passed away suddenly while visiting the house in the late 1800’s” is also buried in Schlicht Cemetery.
