Cleo Lorrene (Pennell) Witt 1925-1984

Cleo Lorrene Witt, daughter of Andrew E. and Goldie Pennell West was born May 14, 1925, in Richland, Missouri and departed this life October 22, 1984 in Cox Medical Center, Springfield, Missouri at the age of 59 years, 5 months, and 8 days.

Cleo was united in marriage to Chester Witt on April 5, 1941 in Lebanon, Missouri, and to this union were born four children, one son, Raymond Dale preceded her in death.

Cleo professed her faith in Christ at an early age and united with the First Baptist Church of Richland.

She is survived by her husband, Bud of the home; one son, Donald Lee, Midland, Texas; two daughters, Donna Payne, Richland and Susan Schultz, Lee’s Summitt, Missouri; one sister, Leo Mudd, Stoutland; six grandchildren, James and Shelby Witt, Mark Payne, Sheri and David Schultz, Debbie Hooker, and one uncle Bert Pennell.

She was a life long resident of Richland and had lived in the Richland area all her life.

She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Services were held Wednesday, October 24, 1984, 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Davenport officiating.

Music was provided by Dwight Roam, soloist, and DeLores Shadel, organist.

Escorts were: John Deep, Rodney Sullins, Jim Dippert, Denver Sullens, Buddy McDaniel and B.P. Thacker. Honorary escorts were: James Baranowski and Steve Belshe.

Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.
