Hazel Thornhill Wade 1916-1984

Hazel Thornhill Wade, the daughter of John William “Will” Thornhill and Gertrude Alma Lewis was born on April 1, 1916, in Pulaski County, Missouri, and she departed this life on October 26, 1984 at Pulaski County Memorial Hospital in Waynesville, Missouri having attained the age of 68 years, 6 months and 25 days.

She lived most of her life in Pulaski County and she began working at International Shoe Company in Richland, Missouri in 1947, working there until they ceased operation. She moved to Sullivan, Missouri and worked for the same company until she moved to Ohio in 1965.

She was married to Granville Wilson in 1933, who preceded her in death. To this union one son Sidney A. Wilson of Kingsville, Texas was born.

She was married to Leo Wade of Kinsman, Ohio in 1965, who also preceded her in death.

She is survived in addition to her son by three grandchildren of Kingsville, Texas; one sister, Gladys Woolard of Lebanon, Missouri and several nieces and nephews, also many other relatives and friends.

In addition to those mentioned she was preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers: Lawrence, Herman, Arthur, and one infant brother at birth.

She resided at Waynesville Nursing Center for the past 12 months, after becoming ill in May 1979.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 28, 1984 at 2:00 p.m. in the Idumea Baptist Church with Rev. Reavil Hankins officiating.

Interment was in the Idumea Cemetery under direction of the Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Joyce Townsend.

Those serving as escorts were: Ted Williams, Roger Williams, Mike Rouse, Danny Cordry, Marvin Stafford, and Marvin Gan.
