Everett “Mac” McGinnis 1917-1984

Everett “Mac” McGinnis was born a son of Everett S. McGinnis and Hazel (Davis) McGinnis of Oran, Missouri on January 16, 1917 and he departed this life August 24, 1984 at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri at the age of 67.

He was united in marriage to Bette Lou Barnes on June 20, 1942 in the North Chapel at Fort Ord, California. He was a member of Morley Masonic Lodge #184 in Morley, Missouri and also a 32nd degree Scottish Rite at Joplin, Missouri. He enlisted in the United States Army June 10, 1940 serving during World War II, in European Theater, also Korea and Japan. Following his military retirement on July 31, 1960 he was employed at Fort Leonard Wood as a civil service employee for 14 years.

He is survived by his wife Bette of Waynesville, Missouri, and close family Mrs. Louanne Nicholson of St. Louis, Missouri, and Lee A. Goodwin of St. Louis, Missouri, and Fannie Wilder of Lake Wood, Colorado and many friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 27, 1984 1:00 p.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Chaplain (CPT) Wayne Bell officiating. Organist was Julie Morgan.

Interment with full Military Honor Rites was in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of the Waynesville Memorial Chapel. Those serving as escorts were Military.
