Lawrence Eldred Dodds 1909-1984

Lawrence Eldred Dodds was born a son of William Robert Dodds and Mary Roberta (Graves) Dodds in Dixon, Missouri on April 18, 1909 and he departed this life March 25, 1984 at the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital in Waynesville, Missouri. Mr. Dodds lived all of his life in the Pulaski County area, except while serving his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

He united in marriage with Sally Morgan on February 24, 1935 and to this union two children were born.

Mr. Dodds was a well known businessman and was a member of the Waynesville Masonic Lodge #375 A.R. and A.M., and Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple of Springfield, Missouri and Pulaski County Fort Wood Shrine Club.

Mr. Dodds was preceded in death by his wife, Sally, two brothers, Ellis and John, and one sister, Laura.

He is survived by one son: Michael of Waynesville, Missouri; one daughter: Judith Ann Tucker of Rolla, Missouri; two sisters, Kate Ditty and Belle Householder both of Columbia, Missouri; six grandchildren: Michael, Cheri, Cyndi, Brad, Larry and Chad and many other relatives and friends.

Masonic services were held Tuesday, March 27, 1984 at 7:00 p.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 28, 1984, 11:00 a.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Leroy Tucker officiating.

Music was provided by Marjorie Link, organist.

Escorts were: Jim Laughlin, Doug Long, Jr., John Ichord, George Lane, Elmer Rigsby, and Bob Gollahan.

Honorary escorts were: Thurman Smith, Cecil Rice, Gene Farnham, and Wm. (Toots) Ousley.

Burial was in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
