Mary (Piercy) Ramey 1899-1984

Mary Ramey, daughter of William Henry Piercy and Martha Lewis Piercy, was born August 12, 1899 in Laclede County, Missouri and departed this life March 29, 1984 in Breech Medical Center.

On November 10, 1917 she was united in marriage with John Ramey and to this union were born five children. She was preceded in death by three sons, Bud, who was killed in World War II, John, Jr., and George who died in September of 1965. Her husband preceded her in death in December of 1975.

At an early age Mary professed her faith in Christ at the Happy Hill Freewill Baptist Church. She united with the Sunnyview Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Anthony of Lebanon and ,rs. Faye Finney of Stoutland, Missouri; one brother: Bill Piercy; and one sister: Mrs. Cora Barr both of Lebanon; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law: Helen Ramey of Lebanon; tow son-in-laws: Calvin Anthony of Lebanon and Verald Finney of Stoutland; also a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

Mary was a wonderful Christian mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by each of her family.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joise Massey and Ora Breakfield and by four brothers. Frank, George, Henry and Ab Piercy.

Services were held Sunday, April 1, 1984, 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lee Elam officiating.

Music was provided by Virginia Piercy, soloist and Mrs. R.D. Wilson, organist.

Escorts were: Edmond Piercy, Marvin Piercy, Billy Ray Piercy, Anderson Piercy, James Piercy, and Carl Piercy.

Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.
